On Saturday, Lou and his dog Zack invited Fred and I and Ron and Jay over for an early afternoon supper. He also wanted to introduce us to his new friend, Bill, a retired teacher who now works in a private program that helps prostate cancer sufferers connect to the various support organizations that exist. He spends much of his time on the phone with the persons themselves.

When Fred and I arrived, everyone else was already there. Ron and Jay had never been to Lou's house, and that was another reason Lou invited them; he was trying to in some small way pay them back for all the times that we've used their house for birthdays and the like.

I can't say much specific about the afternoon, except that the conversation was good, Bill was interesting, the food was very good and Lou was an excellent host. Fred and I just took a few random pictures during the afternoon. In the first picture I've included, Lou, Ron, Jay and myself are standing behind the buffet table just prior to serving ourselves; you can look at that picture here. When Lou brought the steaks in from the grill, I took a picture of Ron, Jay, Fred and Bill serving themselves; you can look at that picture here.

And finally, Fred got a picture of the rest of us eating in Lou's living room. As I said, the afternoon went very well, and I know that Ron and Jay were pleased to be invited and to see Lou's very nice house, and all of us were very interested to meet Bill.

When the afternoon came to a close, Ron and Jay followed Fred and I back to my house, it being a Saturday night, and we played some poker before they left to return to Plano.
