December 15-19, 2025: Prudence's Christmas Party

Prudence's Christmas Party in San Antonio was a week ago, now she, Nancy, and Karl (Ron is in Atlanta with family) have come up to the Bowie House in Fort Worth for Christmas. As soon as I knew she was going to be in Fort Worth, I of course invited the three of them to come to my house on Christmas Day to join our other guests for dinner.

Prudence asked Fred and me to come to Fort Worth to have Christmas Eve dinner with them at the Bowie House's restaurant. You've probably seen pictures of the Bowie House before; it is a boutique hotel just across Camp Bowie Blvd. from the Kimbell and Amon Carter museums. Prudence favors it because she can bring Jax.

Before dinner we did indeed accompany Nancy and Prudence as they took Jax for an evening walk in the residential neighborhood just next to the Bowie House. We took a couple of good pictures and one movie.

On the outbound walk, I took this picture of Nancy, Jax, and Prudence passing a house that was nicely-decorated, although there was still too much light for them to really shine.

It was much darker when we returned, and now you can see how nicely the house is decorated.

Christmas Dinner at Our House in Dallas

Fred and I have been getting ready for this Christmas Dinner for a few days- cleaning, shopping, and preparing things. We are going to have a full house, probably the largest group we have hosted for any event in a decade.

Our group included Fred and me, Steve and Mario, Justin and Gary, Nancy and Karl, Prudence, Lou, Lynne, Lazarus (our backup cat sitter) and David Holland, a friend of Gary's. Before and during dinner (we had six at the dining room table, four in the breakfast room, and three at places on the coffee table in the living room) Fred and I took lots of candid pictures. They weren't all great, but each show one or more guests clearly, and I have put them in a slideshow.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the Christmas gathering, and Fred and I certainly enjoyed hosting it. I cooked the pork roast a trifle long, but that paled against the chance to have so many of our friends together.
