Returning from Ecuador on the 19th, Fred went home for a few days to check on things, but not before we invited Lou and Lynne to join us on Sunday the 23rd to have a small birthday celebration for me. Since it was just my 79th, this wasn't a milestone, but we still wanted to mark the occasion.

We took Lynne and Lou to Flying Fish for dinner, and then returned to the house for some conversation and dessert.

The day before my birthday, Fred and I went to Kroger and found a carrot cake that we were going to serve for dessert, and when we got it home, Fred thought we should take a picture of it in its pristine state.

Our plans changed the next evening when Lou brought gingerbread cake that he had made, and so we just left the carrot cake in the fridge. We ate on it before and after we went down to San Antonio for Thanksgiving.

After we got back from Flying Fish, we went up to the media room to watch a movie, and then set out Lou's dessert and I opened the cards that I received. Fred took the two pictures and one movie of this evening.

That was my birthday this year; if I make it, next year might be more elaborate.
