Miscellaneous Pictures

Every year, both Fred and I take pictures that should be part of this album but which don't belong on the album page for a particular trip or on the album page for all the pictures of the cats. This is the page on which those pictures will appear. They are grouped simply by date.

May 25: The Last Symphony of the Season

We are back and all settled from our epic round-the-world trip, and have one final symphony performance of the season.

The Dallas Symphony and Chorus

We've taken a number of people to the symphony during the year, and tonight it is Al and Kathy's turn to come with us. The performance was pretty amazing. It was conductor Jaap van Zweden's last conducting gig of the season, and the program included Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, “Choral,” and the world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff’s Violin Concerto No. 2.

The new piece was good, but I preferred the Beethoven symphony.

October 30: Fall Comes to Downhill Run Acres

As Fred often does throughout the year, he has brought some pictures that he took around his place north of here; these pictures are illustrative of what it looks like around his house at this time of year.

Fall has come to Downhill Run Acres, and Fred has taken his camera out and around his property to record the event- at least insofar as it impacts the flowers, trees, and landscape in general.

So I've included some of his photos in the slideshow at left. As usual, you can use the little arrows in the lower corners of each picture to move from one to another, and you can track your progress through the eighteen slides by referring to the index numbers in the upper left.

Enjoy experiencing Fall at Downhill Run Acres!
