We've been back from Europe for three weeks now, and haven't seen Ron and Prudence in a while and so are going down to San Antonio for the 4th of July.

As usual, we drove down to San Antonio, leaving Dallas in late morning and getting to Ron and Prudence's Bed and Breakfast, Ruckman Haus, in mid-afternoon.

As we usually do, we just took the time to "hang out" with Ron and Prudence, helping them when we can around the B&B and doing stuff with them when they are done with the chores involved in taking care of their guests.

The newest resident of Ruckman Haus is the dog that Ron and Prudence acquired from a rescue shelter. His name is Jax, and I think he is only a year or so old. He is very much like a large puppy, always wanting to play and run around. Part of his hyperactivity is probably due to his experiences with his first owners which, according to reports, were not good.

Because we come to San Antonio so frequently, we don't take many pictures, unless there is something new going on. The new activity this time was taking Jax for a walk over in San Pedro Park, a block away from the B&B.

I may not have shown you San Pedro Park before; before Jax we didn't get over there much with a camera (we usually just walked over there to throw the Frisbee). So If you would like to see the park in relation to the B&B, and, incidentally, the route we took with Jax, you can look at the image in the scrollable window below:

We got Jax on his leash and headed one block south to San Pedro Park. Jax led us all the way around the wading pool that is in the center of the park; it is spring fed. Towards the end of our walk, Jax met another dog on the walkway.

It was an enjoyable walk with the dog; I am sure that Ron and Prudence appreciate its being able to get out and run and explore for a while. While I was walking the dog, Fred was snapping pictures of us and of the park itself. I've put a bunch of these into a slideshow.
