It's Saturday, August 8th, and today's the day we'll be celebrating the birthdays of Ron Mathis (August 1), Fred (August 6) and Mario Tarradell (August 8). Steve and Mario have invited us to hold the afternoon celebration at their house. There will be only seven of us: Lou, Fred, Ron, Jay, Steve, Mario and myself.
We gathered at Steve and Mario's in the early afternoon for drinks and conversation, and then piled into Ron's SUV for a trip to a local restaurant for dinner. Then it was back to Steve and Mario's for coffee and a slice of the cake shown above.
As it always is, the small gathering was very pleasant; everyone gets a chance to catch up with everyone else. Fred took a number of candid pictures during the afternoon, and if you will click on the thumbnails below you can have a look at them:

In my movie, Fred, Ron and Mario light the candles and then blow them out while the rest of us sing "Happy Birthday."
This was a small gathering, but an excellent opportunity for all of us to catch up with each other. While Fred and I get together with Lou, or Ron & Jay, or Steve & Mario, frequently, we don't all see each other very often. It's good to keep up. Thanks to Steve and Mario for hosting.
