Well, it's February, the month that Fred and I usually reserved for a trip to Florida when he was working at the greenhouses. Even though he isn't there anymore, we still like to go down to Florida at this time of year. Considering everything else going on early this year, we've decided to do a driving trip down, leaving Dallas on the 11th and returning on the 25th. On the way down, we plan to spend some time in "America's Oldest City"- St. Augustine, Florida. Then we'll spend some time at the condo in Fort Lauderdale.

We'll leave Dallas in the morning of the 11th and follow our usual route over to Shreveport, then down to Lafayette and then all the way east to Florida on I-10. Instead of heading south on I-75, though, we'll continue east to Jacksonville, heading south on I-95 to St. Augustine. Finally, we'll continue down I-95 to Fort Lauderdale.

For the return, we'll head up I-95 to an entry onto Florida's Turnpike, which we'll take northwest to I-75. I-75 will bring us to I-10 and we will head west. As it turned out, while we were in Florida, Ron and Jay gave me a portable GPS, and we decided to follow its suggested route home. This route took us northwest at Mobile, following US 49 through Hattiesburg and into Jackson, where we picked up I-20 west and the long drive home.

While this wasn't one of the longest trips we took, I am going to organize it the same way I have organized other major vacation trips in this album- by creating an album page for each day of the trip.
