All good things must come to an end, and our two-week cruise and three-week vacation came to an end when the ship docked in Miami very early on Monday morning, December 15th. I'd kind of gotten used to the routine of playing duplicate bridge each day, especially since my steady partner and I came in third overall, and first east-west. I'll miss all the variety of food constantly available, playing social bridge with the guys, being able to walk down the hall to the gym, and everything else that the cruise had to offer.
As soon as it got light at the dock in Miami, I went up on deck to take a couple of pictures before Fred and I reported to the Lounge to await our departure from the ship. You can click on the two thumbnail images below to see these last two pictures from our cruise:
I intended to be up early enough to watch Miami come into view as we headed in, but even getting up at six found us already at the dock. So I settled for a movie of the dock area and the city of Miami. |
We disembarked pretty quickly after waiting in Michael's Club for just a short while. All of us went our separate ways during the disembarking process; most were taken to the airport to fly to their respective homes. Jason and Barry stayed in Miami for a few days by themselves, and Greg, Fred and I went to Fort Lauderdale for a couple of days before flying home.
Greg had arranged for a rental car for three days, and we took the shuttle to the airport to pick it up, and then headed up to Fort Lauderdale.
This ends the section of this photo album devoted to the cruise. You can return to the cruise index page and from there proceed through the album.
