On Saturday, August 5, I have invited all of our friends over to my house for the occasion of Fred's birthday. Quite a few folks showed up for the celebration and dinner.

Working our way around the faces in the group picture at left, and beginning at the right end of the sofa in the foreground, are: Lynne Richardson, our connection to the Arts here in Dallas, Barbara Reynolds, a good friend of our (and of Lynne's) that we met through Lowery Evans, my Mom, Chris Young, partner of Ron Mathis, Mike Racke, a good friend of ours with whom we have done camping and boating, Ron Mathis, and engineer at TI, myself, Fred, Ron Ruckman, who became Prudence's husband last year, Don Greever, a good friend of Mike's, Lou Acevedo and Prudence.

For this party, I did hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, and we had the usual fixings. And, also as we've done many times before, I picked up a large cake (sadly, no pictures of the cake this year). I think everyone had a good time, and Fred got quite a few funny cards.
