Introduction

For our summer trip this year, Fred and I have planned a trip centered on Yellowstone National Park. We thought at first that we would take our camping gear with us on the plane, but a cursory call or two to the Park and to the Jackson Hole area gave us to understand that campsites would be next to impossible to find. So we reluctantly decided to use hotels instead.

Fred, who as usual gets high marks for planning, has been researching stops we might make in Yellowstone and the surrounding area, and he bought a hiking guide for the park. He has gotten the required vacation time- three days at the end of a week and the following weekend. So we have planned to leave Dallas after work on Tuesday, July 15th, and return Sunday evening, July 20th.
